  • Open Board Positions!

    Hello Sigma Members, Some of the current board members' terms of service are coming to a close. We are looking for new board members to join our team! We have the following positions available: President Vice President Leadership Succession Chair Leadership Succession Committee Members Governance Chair Committee Members We meet on Zoom once a month in the evening for 1 hour. We plan volunteer events, fundraisers, plan the induction ceremony, and send delegates to Sigma conferences. Joining the board is a great way to increase your involvement in Sigma, help the community, and gain leadership experience.   • Congratulations to the new chapter members!

    Hello Sigma Community, We are thrilled to announce the induction of 20 new members to our chapter! We had an induction ceremony on Friday at Messiah University. The Keynote speaker was Dr. Kristen Shaub with a focus on transition to practice. Congratulations to all of our new members!
  • Volunteer Opportunity

    Hello Sigma Members, Our annual meeting is on January 31st from 7-8pm on Zoom. The theme is transition to practice. We are looking for a few volunteers to be on the discussion panel to talk to soon-to-be RNs and RNs about transition to practice and strategies to avoid burnout.   • Sigma Board Positions Available!

    Hello Sigma Members, Are you interested in becoming a board member? We have a few openings coming up for next term, which starts in July 2023! This is a great opportunity to get more involved, network with other members, and to gain leadership experience. Here are the positions that are opening up: Treasurer-The treasurer shall be the custodian of the funds of this chapter and may be bonded in an amount equal to three-fourths of the worth of the chapter. The treasurer shall propose a budget to the Board.  Counselor- A counselor shall be a member of the faculty at the institution of higher education where the chapter is located, with the exception of counselors within Alumni chapters or practice settings who oversee Nurse Leader inductions and who are not required to be faculty.  Governance Committee-shall oversee bylaws compliance, make recommendations for bylaws changes and oversee member and chapter eligibility issues. All three positions are a two year term. Board members meet once a month in the evenings via Zoom for about 1 hour. We plan volunteer events, fundraisers, the new member induction ceremony and any other business related to the chapter.  If you are interested in becoming a board member, please email the leadership succession committee (Jessica Merkert or Rebekkah Stanko) at jmerkert@messiah.edu or rstanko@messiah.edu.

    Have you been wanting to get involved in your local Sigma chapter? Are you interested in networking with other nurses in the Mechanicsburg area? Now is your chance to get involved in Lambda Kappa!   The current chapter board is having a few positions open up for the next term!
